One of the EtonKids schools with campuses throughout China which teaches by the Montessiore pre-school method. Its age intake is from 1-9 years old and the medium of tuition is English.
"The Place" Shopping Mall - across the street
A new grand and luxurious mall with a huge atrium and projection screen and a run of outlets that covers most retail needs. Open daily from 10 am to 10 pm.(5 mins)
Kerry Center
A principal feature of the CBD, the Kerry Center is a complex of hotel, shops and offices with sports and fitness facilities.(10 min)
LG Building, Space Building, SOHO Shangdu Building and Hanwei Building
are other principal CBD buildings within 10 to 15 minutes walk.
Subway Stations - Jin Tai Xi Zhao( line 10) / Hujialuo( Line10) / Da Bei Yao (Line 1)
These stations give you access to a thoroughly modern and easy to follow subway system with English signage translations. From the 2008 Olympics, it has been expanded to most quarters of the city.(10-15 mins)
China World Trade Centre Shopping Mall
This is a three-level mall with appeal to business travelers and expatriate families. The ground level contains airline offices, a food court, and Beijing's first Starbucks. There are stores such as Louis Vuitton and Jack and Jones, as well as a CRC Supermarket and a specialty wine shop. Open daily 9:30am to 9:30pm.(6 mins)

Shin Kong Place (Shopping center)

Silk Street or Silk Market (Guomao station, Line1)
A shopping centre accommodating over 1,700 retail vendors and replacing the old alley-based Xiushui Market. In addition to selling fashion apparels and accessories, the new Silk Street has introduced traditional handicrafts, antiques, calligraphy, carpets, table cloths, bed coverings, paintings, dresses, toys, electronic gadgets, trinkets, and jewelry.(10-15 mins)
Chao Yang Park
At 320 hectares, the largest park in the city. There are two outdoor swimming pools, a bungee jumping tower over one of the lakes, boating, sports areas, a wetland area, funfair and musical fountains. The park also plays host to many outdoor music events. Night time entertainment takes place at the west and east gates of the park.
Tian An Men Square
The most famous and visited spot in Bejing and, once you are a resident, a good place to take your visitors, especially for the early morning flag raining ceremony. It is not far from home. (10 -15 mins)
St Joseph's Cathedral (East Church), Beijing Wangfung Dajie
This large city centre Catholic church is quite an elegant sight in itself. Now fully restored to worship as well as architecturally, it celebrates masses in English (and one a week in Latin) as well as Chinese.(15 -20 mins)
Wang Fu Jing Area
Wang Fu Jing Avenue ,the "walking street", is lined with department stores and shops selling everything from high fashions to high grade tea. Running parallel are Dong Dan Bei and Dong Si Nan Avenues, with a concentration of small restaurants, shops and boutiques. (15 -20 mins)
CCTV Headquarters
This extraordinary piece of architecture, which is just opening as the TV headquarters, is worth just looking at. Locals call it 'The Pants'. Facilities available to the public within are expected.(15 mins)

San Li Tun
A street area famous for its bars eateries and evening entertainments, the first of its kind to open up in the city in recent years and popular with foreigners and locals.(10-15 min)
Beihai Bar Street
Also known as New Bar Street, it runs along the edges of Beihai Park, northwest of the Forbidden City. These bars are where the hip young locals go for a night on the town. New Bar Street is a good place to stroll around on a warm summer evening, with pleasant views.(15 -20 mins)
The Forbidden City
The iconic heart of the city with the Gate of Heavenly Peace and Mao's portrait facing Tiananmen Square, it was begun in the 15th century and was the seat of the Ching and Ming dynasties till 1911. It is also known as the Palace Museum and is open to the public.(10-15 min)
Chairman Mao Memorial Hall
Also known as the Mao Mausoleum, it contains the embalmed body of Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Communist Party of China from 1945 until his death in 1976. Situated on the south side of Tiananmen Square, the Hall is open daily to the public for the viewing of Mao's body.
798 Artists Quarter
"798" is located in the Dashanzi area, on the site of once state-owned factories including Factory 798, which originally produced electronics. Beginning in 2002, artists and cultural organizations began to divide, rent out, and re-make the factory spaces, developing them into galleries, studios, design companies, restaurants, and bars. It has become a Soho style area crafted out of a gritty urban landscape.(20 mins)
National Grand Theatre Tiananmen Square
The glass and titanium National Grand Theater opened in 2007 in Tiananmen Square besides the Great Hall of the People. This egg-shaped opera house was designed by French architect Paul Andreu, and seats 2,416 people in 200,000 square meters .The building is surrounded by a pool and gives the impression of floating on the surface of the water. The main north entrance is a corridor running under the pool.(15 min)
Chaoyang Theater 36 Dongsanhuan Bei Lu
The Fodor Guide says of this theatre, "This is the queen bee of acrobatics venues...Spectacular individual and team acrobatic displays involving bicycles, seesaws, catapults, swings, and barrels are performed here nightly."(10 -15 mins)
